The communication protocol between vehicles and cities in Brazil.
V2X stands for Vehicle-to-Everything — the communication layer that allows vehicles to talk to traffic lights, signage, other vehicles, and pedestrians. It is what transforms a smart car into a participant in the urban infrastructure.
Brazil does not yet have a defined V2X standard. Bex V2X is our proposal to fill that gap.
What it covers
- V2I (Vehicle-to-Infrastructure) — communication with traffic lights, road signs, and intelligent intersections.
- V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) — information exchange between vehicles in motion.
- V2P (Vehicle-to-Pedestrian) — detection and communication with pedestrians and cyclists.
- V2N (Vehicle-to-Network) — connection with central traffic management systems.
Why a Brazilian protocol
International standards — DSRC (IEEE 802.11p) and C-V2X (3GPP) — are generic. Implementation in Brazil requires adaptations for the existing road infrastructure, Brazilian driver behavior, and regulations from ANATEL and DENATRAN.
Whoever defines the protocol defines how autonomous vehicles will operate in the country.
Integration
Bex V2X is designed to be embedded in any vehicle — electric or conventional, from domestic or international automakers. The protocol also integrates with municipal traffic management systems, extending the reach of existing smart city programs.
